Lady Hill Winery Wedding St. Paul Oregon ~ Bekah & Ian

A Dreamy Engagement and Wedding Journey at Silver State Falls, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and Lady Hill Winery

It’s always a privilege to be a part of a couple’s wedding journey, and when we had the opportunity to photograph Bekah and Ian’s engagement portraits, their wedding, and everything in between, it was a true honor. From dramatic engagement photos by Silver State Falls to the stunning nuptials at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt. Angel, and then a magical reception at Lady Hill Winery, their wedding day was the perfect blend of natural beauty and timeless elegance. Let’s take a closer look at these unforgettable moments.

Engagement Portraits at Silver State Falls

A few months before their wedding, we had the pleasure of capturing Bekah and Ian’s engagement portraits. They chose Silver State Falls, located just outside of Salem, Oregon, as the backdrop for their session—and it couldn’t have been a more perfect choice. The dramatic waterfall provided a breathtaking, almost ethereal, setting for their photos. With the mist from the falls creating a soft, dreamy atmosphere, and the lush greenery surrounding them, Bekah and Ian were nothing short of radiant.

We’d scouted the location a week prior to their session, ensuring we found the best spot to capture the magic of the falls while also allowing the couple to be in the moment. A shaded area near the river made the perfect setting for intimate portraits that felt timeless yet personal. Silver State Falls, with its beauty and serenity, was a stunning way to start their wedding journey—allowing us to capture the love they share in a naturally beautiful environment.

The Wedding Day: St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mt. Angel

Fast forward to August, and we were ready to capture the big day. Bekah and Ian’s wedding ceremony took place at the breathtaking St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt. Angel, Oregon. With its towering spires, intricate stained glass, and peaceful atmosphere, the church provided a stunning backdrop for the couple’s vows. It was a perfect warm summer day, and the church's timeless elegance set the tone for the rest of the wedding celebration.

There’s something truly special about photographing a couple in such a sacred space. The light filtering through the stained glass windows added an ethereal glow, and the couple’s emotional vows made the ceremony feel even more intimate and moving. Bekah looked absolutely stunning in her gown, and Ian’s face when he saw her walk down the aisle was priceless.

Post-Ceremony Portraits at Champoeg Park

After the ceremony, we headed out to Champoeg Park, located just outside of the city, for more intimate and private portraits with the bridal party. The park’s lush green forest and peaceful riverside setting created the perfect contrast to the church ceremony. As a photographer, there’s something truly magical about shooting in natural surroundings that complement the couple’s style. Bekah and Ian took a few moments to soak in the beauty around them, and we were able to capture their love in a setting that felt both relaxed and intimate.

Champoeg Park, with its wooded trails and riverfront views, was an ideal choice for portraits. We had scouted the area in advance, finding a shaded spot near the water that was easily accessible—perfect for all footwear types (an important consideration for anyone planning a wedding!). It was such a lovely break in between the ceremony and reception, allowing the couple to enjoy some quiet moments together before the celebration continued.

Lady Hill Winery: A Beautiful Reception Venue

After portraits, we made our way to Lady Hill Winery for the reception. This stunning venue, located near St. Paul, Oregon, in the heart of the Willamette Valley, is everything you’d dream of for a winery wedding. Set against rolling hills of vineyards and a small orchard, it provides the perfect ambiance for an unforgettable celebration. We had the opportunity to photograph the reception as the sun set over the vineyard—setting the stage for a fairytale mid-summer wedding.

Lady Hill Winery’s Columban Hall offers a beautiful indoor space for larger gatherings, or if you prefer, you can host your event outdoors amidst the breathtaking landscape. The venue is versatile, with the capacity to hold over 250 guests, making it ideal for both intimate and larger weddings. The wine here is exceptional (a definite bonus for wine lovers!), and guests were able to enjoy a refreshing cocktail hour in the winery while the bride and groom took a moment to breathe and relax.

As photographers, we loved the variety that the venue offered. From the expansive vineyard views to the gorgeous, vintage-inspired barn where the reception took place, there was no shortage of stunning backdrops for photos. Bekah and Ian’s first dance under the twinkling lights in the vineyard was a moment to remember. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they danced into the evening, celebrating their new life together.

A Perfect Wedding Day

From the dramatic engagement portraits at Silver State Falls to the sacred vows at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the fairytale reception at Lady Hill Winery, Bekah and Ian’s wedding was everything you’d want in a summer celebration. The beauty of the Pacific Northwest served as a breathtaking canvas for their love story, and we were so grateful to be part of it. Every moment felt special, and it was clear to see how much these two cherished each other, surrounded by the people who love them.

If you’re planning your own wedding, we can’t recommend Lady Hill Winery enough as a venue—whether you're hosting a large celebration or a more intimate gathering. The surrounding vineyards and farmland create the perfect romantic atmosphere. And of course, there’s no shortage of picturesque locations throughout the Willamette Valley to capture your own love story!
